  • Are you awesome? Want to join our team?

We do things a bit differently at Music City Bricks when it comes to employment. We are building something really cool in our community and want people on our team that want to help us make this vision a reality.

If you are thinking about working here, we hope it is because you were treated awesome and discovered Music City Bricks is a great place to hang out, play and shop. We are hoping you want to help us grow and make the place even better.

We are only interested in top-tier, high-performance individuals that understand what great customer service looks like - and are committed to deliver it every day. We are only interested in working with a team of kind, courteous, professional, ethical, moral, hardworking people that bring their A-game nearly every day.

Please do not contact us if you are just looking for a job or paycheck - you won't last a month. You will also not fit in our team if you clock-in then go take a break, spend 10 minutes going to the bathroom, use your phone for personal reasons on the clock, smoke or do any illegal drugs, have poor hygiene or wear perfume or cologne. We are a scent, smoke and slacker free workplace.

We are not perfect, and we don't have any perfect people on our team, but we do seek to hire the best humanity has to offer.

Our guests (customers) are not perfect either, but we expect them all to be treated with kindness, respect, and high-quality service.

We use a professional growth tool to help all our team members understand our minimum performance expectations and to take ownership of their advancement in our organization. We want the Music City Bricks team to provide a shopping and play experience to our guests that is so comprehensive and of such high quality that our guests would not want to go anywhere else unless that place offered the same quality and variety.

We believe that people prefer to work as part of a high performing team and want high expectations placed on them to help them become the best version of themselves. We also recognize that our available time and money is limited and wasting it on people that are not committed to excellence is a disservice to the rest of our team and to our guests. This tool helps each team member self-identify what areas they are currently excelling at and what areas they need to improve so the whole team can grow professionally. This tool also helps our leadership team identify situations they are responsible to address with coaching and if necessary, helping a team member grow by removing them from an organization where they are not thriving so they can go pursue work they are passionate about. Each team member should look forward to coming to work every day to face the challenges of the work and to experience the pleasure of being part of a high-performance team providing high quality products and services to their community at an organization they are proud to work in.

We use certain words intentionally to frame how we think about our approach. We think of our customers as guests more than just customers. We think of our employees as teammates on our team. We think of our company as an organization of high-performing teams, not just a business.

Still want to join our team?

You won't find an online job application tool on our website. We do not respond well to emails or direct messages on social media asking for a job. All of our work happens in-person, so we need to know how you handle yourself in-person. Come to our location when we are open and introduce yourself and chat with us. Help us get to know you as a person. Don't tell us what you think we want to hear. If you try to sell us someone that is not the real you, and we hire that person, you will need to be that person every day. If you quit being that person and we don't like the real you, we are not going to keep paying to hang out with you every day. We don't want to work with someone we do not like, and we do not want you to work in an environment where people do not like you.

We like to work with people that have a good attitude, like to learn and work, like to help each other and like to make our vision a reality. We do not care what color your skin is, what name you use for your god(s), if you are married to someone that is a different or same gender as you, etc. Basically, we try to follow the laws around discrimination just like any other socially responsible company.

However, we do create an environment in our establishment that might not be comfortable for everyone. Our Dress Code & Brand policy does not permit unnatural hair colors, exposed tattoos that are not kid friendly, use of language that is not kid friendly, or outfits that are not kid friendly. We do look for our future employees to share our core values around ethics and morals. We play Christian music all day throughout our business. We know we are not perfect, but we try to value our team members and treat them each with kindness and respect.

If you read this whole page and still do not know how to join our team, you probably do not possess the attention to detail, initiative, ability to process instructions, or follow-through that will be required to excel in our team. That is ok. We want you to be happy at your job and you would probably not be happy here. There is an endless list of open jobs at other companies that would be more fun for you and easier to join.
